Bodrum Gulet Charter: The Gulf of Gökova Round Trip in Seven Nights

The classic Bodrum gulet charter is a week-long round trip in the Gulf of Gökova, YachtCloud's Bodrum page says [2]. Bodrum sits on the gulf's north shore, and the gulf is a Special Environmental Protection Area [5][6]. The page lists 95 gulets based in Bodrum, with typical weekly rates of €8,680 to 22,400 for the whole boat.

Who this is for: groups who have chosen Bodrum, or are close to it, and want to know what the week looks like before comparing boats. If you are still choosing between Turkish ports, start with where to start a gulet charter in Turkey.

  • Stops YachtCloud names: Orak Island, Çökertme, English Harbour, Sedir Island and more.

  • Season: April to October from Bodrum; July and August are the busiest.

  • Boats: 95 Bodrum gulets, a median 28 m and 12 guests.

  • Typical week: €8,680 to 22,400 for the whole boat, before VAT and extras.

What does a week in the Gulf of Gökova look like?

A Gökova week starts and ends in Bodrum and stays inside one gulf, so the passages are shorter than on a one-way week and you fly in and out of the same airport [5]. The days go on swim stops, village bays and nights at anchor rather than on covering distance.

YachtCloud's Bodrum page names these stops for its seven-night Bodrum-Gökova-Bodrum route, listed here in the order the page gives them [4]:

  1. Alakışla Inlet

  2. Çökertme

  3. Tuzla Bay

  4. English Harbour

  5. Sedir (Cleopatra) Island

  6. Karacasöğüt

  7. Ballısu Cove

  8. Longöz Bay

  9. Kargılı Bay

  10. Orak Island

  11. Pabuç Burnu

  12. Haremten Bay

The page doesn't say which nights go where, and every Bodrum listing calls its routes possibilities, not a fixed day-by-day plan [1]. The same page names a second seven-night round trip, via Knidos, Bozburun, Datça and Kara Ada [4]. YachtCloud's Blue Cruise guide adds the Seven Islands to its own short list of Gökova highlights [5]. The captain builds each day around the wind, the weather and how busy the anchorages are.

Charter Tip

YachtCloud's Blue Cruise guide says the summer breeze on this coast tends to come from the west or north-west and build through the afternoon [5]. Ask the captain whether the longer passages will run in the morning.

What are the rules in the protected gulf?

The Gulf of Gökova has been a Special Environmental Protection Area since 1988, by a Council of Ministers decision, according to a leaflet hosted by Turkey's environment ministry [6]. Four kinds of rules and guidance matter on a charter week.

Sources read 4 November 2026. The Official Gazette notice itself couldn't be opened from here; the zone list comes from the conservation society's board, which cites it.

Parts of English Harbour and Longöz Bay, both on YachtCloud's route list, are among the fishing-restricted areas [4][7]. The board's rule covers fishing; it says nothing about anchoring or swimming there.

Sedir Island is the stop with the most visible rules. The ministry's fee page lists it at €13 for foreign visitors, with a MüzeKart museum-pass price in the same row, yet its notes say the MüzeKart isn't valid there [10]. Ask the crew what to bring.

Important to Confirm

Rules and fees here change between seasons. The society's 2025 Fethiye-Göcek board says the 2020 notice was updated in August 2024 and reissued in April 2025 [13], so the Gökova zones may have changed too. Ask the captain which areas are closed to fishing and how Sedir Island visits work in your month, before you leave Bodrum.

Where do you board in Bodrum?

Bodrum is a peninsula with several marinas, not a single quay. YachtCloud's Bodrum page lists Milta Bodrum Marina in the town centre, with 425 berths afloat, D-Marin Turgutreis on the western side and Yalıkavak Marina in the north-west [4].

Which one you use depends on the yacht and its operator, so confirm the marina and boarding time before booking transfers [4]. Milas-Bodrum Airport (BJV) is a 30 to 40 minute drive from the town-centre marina, according to the same page; the other marinas take a different time.

YachtCloud gives the Bodrum charter season as April to October [4]. For its one-way route from Bodrum, its Blue Cruise guide picks May, June, September and October as the best months, with July and August the busiest [5].

Which gulets are based in Bodrum?

YachtCloud lists 95 gulets based in Bodrum, from 15 to 56 metres and taking 4 to 36 guests [2]. The median gulet is 28 metres long and takes 12 guests in six cabins; 52 take 12 or more [1].

Typical weekly rates run €8,680 to 22,400 for the whole boat, across 93 priced gulets, from €4,200 [2]. "Typical" is the middle half of priced gulets, as YachtCloud's cost guide defines it [3]. Among the 50 priced gulets that take 12 or more, the middle half charge €9,800 to 24,500, or about €817 to 2,042 a guest for 12, before VAT and extras [1].

The lines differ from boat to boat. 82 listings add VAT at 20 percent, 27 add an APA (23 at 20 percent, 4 at 30), and 9 publish a full-board price of €455 to 665 a guest a week [1]. 51 include engine fuel for three or four hours a day.

Every one of them also says in its price box that provisioning, fuel and other extras are quoted separately [1]. Ask which applies to your week. Gulet charter prices from 287 real listings explains how these lines add up.

Round trip or one way from Bodrum?

YachtCloud's Blue Cruise route sails one way from Bodrum to Fethiye, via Knidos, Bozburun, Marmaris and the Göcek islands. That itinerary covers it day by day [5].

The trade-off is simple. One way sees more coast but flies home from Dalaman, and it can carry a repositioning fee for the yacht's return. The Gökova round trip keeps one airport and shorter passages [5].

Mistakes to avoid

  • Booking transfers to the wrong marina. Bodrum has several, and the yacht's operator decides which one you board from.

  • Treating a listing's sample route as the plan. The captain sets the order around wind and crowds.

  • Fishing from the yacht anywhere you like. Seven areas of the gulf restrict fishing, including part of English Harbour.

  • Comparing base fees alone. Some Bodrum gulets add an APA, some price meals per guest, and some don't say.

  • Arriving at Sedir Island late in the day. Its extended 2026 hours ran only to 19:30.

Is YachtCloud the right fit?

YachtCloud suits groups who want a private crewed gulet from Bodrum and want to compare boats on published specifications and starting rates. It acts as a charter intermediary; the owner or operator confirms availability and the final price [12]. Every Bodrum listing is a private charter of the whole yacht, and each calls its routes possibilities, not a fixed day-by-day plan [1]. If you want a shared-cabin cruise or a fixed itinerary, look elsewhere.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is seven nights enough for the Gulf of Gökova?

Yes. YachtCloud describes the Gökova round trip as a full week inside the gulf, and says a round trip means shorter passages than a one-way week [5]. The captain decides how many bays fit around the wind and how busy the anchorages are.

Where do gulet charters in Bodrum start?

It depends on the yacht. YachtCloud's Bodrum page lists Milta Bodrum Marina in the town centre, D-Marin Turgutreis and Yalıkavak Marina, and says the exact boarding point depends on the yacht and its operator [4]. Confirm the marina before you book transfers.

Can we visit Sedir Island on a gulet charter?

Sedir Island is an archaeological site run as a paid visit. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism lists entry at €13 for foreign visitors [10]. For 2026 it extended visiting hours to 19:30 between 1 May and 1 October [9]. Plan it as a daytime stop, check the next season's hours, and ask the crew how they arrange the landing.

Can we fish from the yacht in Gökova?

Not everywhere. The Mediterranean Conservation Society's board, citing the 2020 Official Gazette, maps seven fishing-restricted areas, including parts of English Harbour, Akyaka and Löngöz Koyu [7]. Several allow only angling from the shore. Ask the captain before anyone casts a line from the yacht.

How much does a gulet charter from Bodrum cost?

YachtCloud's Bodrum page gives a typical weekly base fee of €8,680 to 22,400 for the whole boat across 93 priced gulets, with the lowest at €4,200 [2]. Most add 20 percent VAT, and some add an APA or a per-guest meal price on top [1].

Sources and methodology

Bodrum figures come from a first-party count: every yacht page linked from YachtCloud's Yacht Finder (497 pages) was read on 4 November 2026 between 18:14 and 18:16 UTC. 288 are gulets, and 95 give Bodrum as their base, which matches the Bodrum gulet page read at 18:17 UTC. Rates are each listing's lowest weekly base fee for the whole boat; 'typical' is the middle half of priced listings, as YachtCloud's cost guide defines it. APA, VAT, meal prices and fuel hours were read from each listing's price estimator and charges lists; a listing is counted only where the line is present. Route stops are those YachtCloud names; the order and nights are set by each captain. Rule claims come from the sources cited beside them, read on 4 November 2026. These are published listing terms, not contracts, and cannot tell whether a yacht is free for your dates.
